Regulatory requirement for Registered Plants
If you own Registerable Plant, it’s crucial to understand your obligations regarding registration and inspection. With the introduction of Western Australia’s new Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022—which came into effect on 31 March 2022—the term “Classified Plant” has been replaced with “Registerable Plant.
According to the work Health and Safety (Mines)Regulations 2022 & Work Health and safety Regulations 2022 & AS3788:2006-R2017 the Registered plants (Classified Plants) shall be inspected periodically by the qualified inspectors/Competent person.
Failure to comply with these legal requirements can result in significant penalties—and more critically, it could lead to serious injury or loss of life for workers and contractors.
